It is our goal to have each rider and visitor leave Altadena Stables feeling they gained joy while spending time outdoors with our amazing four legged friends. "I've been boarding here for a year and I can't say enough about this place. All the horses here are treated with high quality care, they feed three times a day, and have the best barn manager and trainers that are easily approachable and super helpful. Although I didn't experience previous management from what I hear it was not good!! So if you've been turned off by the place due to previous management, fear not, Janelle is the new manager and she is AMAZING! She is so knowledgeable, friendly and so welcoming! Terri is our trainer and she is very experienced and great with kids! Its also easily accessible to trails and has a big arena with great footing. I would highly recommend this stable for anyone that is in the area, close to trails and simply a hidden gem! I guarantee it will not disappoint!"

"This place was great. We took a group of boys to horseback ride. They learned some other valuable lessons on cleaning stables, picking up after the horses and grooming them.
It's a great experience for us "city folk" to get some fresh air (and horse manure too).
The staff is very patient and their passion for their horses is evident in their enthusiasm.

They offer, lessons, boarding, birthday parties and camps. I'm also going to take advantage of all of their services too for my daughter.
They feed top quality feed and have two live in employees, so there is always someone around day or night "

20 of my 26 years on this planet have been spent with horses, at several stables throughout the world. Now, at last, I'm thrilled to say that I've finally found my favorite place.

To keep from rambling on for hours, I'll confine my praise within a list:

-Down-to-earth people and well-treated horses.
-Access to trails that won't disappoint.
-Great footing, from the arena to the round pen, to the bedding and beyond.
-High quality feed, provided 3-times-a-day.
-Plenty of shade, and functioning fans.
-A panoply of training options, from the classic English (ex: Huntseat) and Western (ex: Pleasure), to disciplines which are more rare to find training in (ex: Driving and Saddleseat).
-A sweet, peaceful atmosphere that is drama- free.
